Third Annual Gulf Coast Gravity Conference (GC)2 3

Huntsville, Alabama

23 –24 March, 2007

The 3rd Gulf Coast Gravity Conference will be held 23-24 March, 2007, on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville. In keeping with the regional gravity meetings tradition, this will be an open, relaxed, and informal conference. We are inviting researchers and students interested in all areas of gravitational physics: classical and quantum gravity, general relativistic astrophysics and cosmology, quantum cosmology, gravitational waves – theory and detection, and experimental gravity. Because this is a regional meeting, many attendees will be from Gulf coast neighboring and southern states, but all are welcome.

There will be no plenary lectures or parallel sessions. Instead, all participants, and especially postdocs and students, are encouraged to contribute short, introductory talks on their current research, with the aim of fostering communication and understanding among gravitational physicists with different backgrounds. Everyone who requests to speak will be given equal time (plausibly between 10 and 15 minutes, including a question period, contingent on the number of talks). The GGR prize will be awarded for the best talk given by a student at the meeting.

There will be no registration fee, but no financial support is available for travel expenses for any participant. We request that participants register, and submit the titles of their talks if they wish to speak, by Friday, March 16, 2007 at 5pm (CST).

The venue of the meeting is the Optics Building, room 234-7.
